Entry-Level Water Consultant / Engineer

Job Description
Arcadis is seeking a passionate Water or Wastewater Consultant/Engineer to join our expanding business in Braintree, MA or Wakefield, MA location. This position will contribute to a variety of projects--both locally and throughout the country--utilizing your technical knowledge of water and wastewater systems, combined with data analytics and asset management to develop innovative solutions throughout the national market. We are looking for dedicated, creative, motivated, and energetic candidates interested in tackling challenges and developing sustainable solutions to address water issues like scarcity, reuse, operations, management, and resilience. Collaborating with our experienced Water Professionals, you will support and drive the development of projects, interact and work with clients, and develop your technical capabilities. Arcadis provides multiple onboarding and development programs created for our young professionals that support professional growth and help drive creativeness, innovation, and greater integration within our local, national and global teams.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Work on a variety of infrastructure projects, including water and wastewater facilities evaluations, utility assessments and capital improvement planning
  • Review data and perform data analytics
  • Perform database design, development and database management for Microsoft Access/SQL Server or Oracle
  • Ensure data integrity and credibility of results that are presented by correctly understanding business requirements
  • Design and develop SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports
  • Support and gather requirements to enhance web-based applications
  • Application testing and track bugs
  • Develop and review technical reports and presentations for projects
  • Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis’ practices and quality and safety standards
  • Facilitate coordination for timely completion and submission of project deliverables
  • Maintain and increase professional and technical knowledge by having regular participation with industry Associations; attending workshops, making presentations and reviewing professional publications
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
Key Attributes:
  • Exceptional Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written--public speaking, ability to communicate effectively as part of a team and with clients and for the preparation/development of technical documents
  • Strong analytical, communication and team management skills
  • Familiarity with water and wastewater systems
  • Understanding of database functionality and information systems

Required Qualifications
  • B.S. in Engineering, Management Information Systems, or Engineering Management.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data visualization software, including Tableau or PowerBI
  • Knowledge and understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, Access, or other)
