Project Manager

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) has been developing innovative technologies and solutions for cutting-edge DoD and intelligence programs for almost six decades. Our expertise is in space and airborne IR, VIS, UV, and RF sensors, small satellite technologies, test and calibration, cybersecurity, data visualization and assurance, and ground stations.

SDL is seeking applicants for a project manager with a software development background. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day software development activities for military space software systems programs. The program manager will work as part of a larger team with developers, engineers, managers, technicians, and support personnel.

·  Understanding a customer’s needs and issues, usually by direct interface

·  Assembling and directing corporate resources toward execution of the contract

·  Identifying, tracking, avoiding, and mitigating risks

·  Trading issues of scope, approach, cost, and schedule

·  Delivering the contracted result

·  Managing daily activities of an engineering support and logistics team

·  Pursuing new business development opportunities

·  BS in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or information systems

·  Five or more years of technical program experience

·  Demonstrated supervisory experience

·  Proficiency in task management

·  Ability to organize and manage a team

·  Experience developing program schedules and controlling budgets to meet required deadlines

·  Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while making direct contributions to team success

·  Strong verbal and written communication skills

·  Up-to-date computer skills

·  Willing to travel

·  Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance

·  Must be a US citizen

·  Must be able to travel

·  MBA with a technical BS degree
