Mechanical Engineering Intern

Mechanical Engineering Intern - 4 Openings (start dates flexible based on school schedule)

Lake Shore Cryotronics is an international leader in developing innovative measurement and control solutions, primarily for scientific applications. Our equipment is often used to characterize physical properties of early stage electronic and magnetic materials.

As a Mechanical Engineer Intern at Lake Shore, you will assist with concept development and testing in the sensor development process. You will be guided by an experienced mentor, and immersed in office and lab environments while you work with, and create, technologies that further the science that benefits mankind.

Primary Duties Include:
  • Assisting in the process of designing and building of prototype and test units
  • Creating and revising CAD drawings
  • Evaluation of cutting edge technologies for novel sensor products
  • Participate in a number of product process improvement initiatives
  • Obtain and process high volume data
  • Research new technologies and materials
  • Assist engineers with other various tasks as needed

Qualifiers: 
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0+
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with Solidworks CAD
