Staff Software Developer

As a Staff Software Developer on our team, you will be responsible for developing technology critical to the success of our projects as well as national security

You will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and computer scientists developing simulation tool technologies to support real-world planning operations for the Department of Defense. You’ll become familiar with unique research areas such as weapons effects, weaponeering, and anti-terrorism tactics. Our technology stack evolves over the years, but the main skills we use today include modern C++, Qt, Openscenegraph, CMake, and Python. Our infrastructure tools include git, Microsoft Visual Studio, Atlassian tools, and TeamCity. At the end of the day, we try to find the best way to deliver useful products to our end users. The teams retain a mindset that is open to change and improvement.

 If you’re interested, here’s what we are all about:
  • Exercising the experience you’ve gained with Modern C++ and Object Oriented software design principles.
  • Applying technologies in multiple domains and problem areas (structural engineering, computer science, physics, and machine learning to name a few).
  • Gaining expertise in areas such as scientific visualization and multi-threaded algorithm design to develop compelling visual effects.
  • Solving challenging real-world customer problems and communicating complex concepts to non-expert audiences.
  • Working closely within a team environment to collaboratively solve challenging problems.

Job Preferences:
  • Experience with Qt
  • Familiarity with the CMake build system

Realistically, you need a BS or MS in computer science, engineering, physics or a related field. This position requires strong coding skills in C++ or Python.

Due to the nature of the work you will need to be a US citizen with an active DoD Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain one (selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements at the time of employment).
