ENGINEER - RESEARCH ENGINEER - ENGINE PERFORMANCE

Job Summary:

Join our Powertrain Engineering Division! Support engine performance and emissions testing within the Diesel Engine and Emissions R&D Department. Regularly communicate and collaborate with the client and laboratory staff to efficiently execute engine test plans. Prepare and present data in accordance to project deliverables. Troubleshoot test cell instrumentation and engine faults. Provide oversight for test cell engine installations in accordance to best practices. Work in a strong team environment. Engage in project management. Participate in business development activities including marketing and proposal preparation for existing and new clients.

Education/Experience:

Requires a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering, other related engineering degrees will be considered. Must have 0-5 years of experience. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Must have demonstrated hands on experience with engine testing. Must possess a strong interest in heavy-duty on- and off-highway diesel engines, have understanding and knowledge related to internal combustion engine thermodynamics, and be familiar with the test cell instrumentation setup and calibration. Experience with engine calibration software tools such as ETAS INCA, Vector CANape, and Cummins Calterm is a plus. Must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills. Must have experience with PC-based presentation, spreadsheet, data processing, and word processing software. Knowledge of computer control and data acquisition is desired. Must be highly organized and capable of effectively and efficiently communicating with, directing, and coordinating laboratory technical staff. Must be able to travel, multi-task between different projects, and work independently with a minimal amount of supervision. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
