Mechanical Engineer Intern

Job purpose:
 
All interns will be responsible for routine engineering and construction tasks within their department and on assigned projects. In addition to gaining knowledge from daily tasks and projects, interns will also be given opportunities throughout the term to develop their soft skills and take on leadership roles. Specifically, to conclude the program, interns will each be given the opportunity to showcase what they've learned over the term during their final presentations. There will be formal and informal opportunities such as this throughout the term, which will help prepare students for their professional careers.
 
This position is not committed for specific term and runs as a year-round program, with the opportunity to extend into externship work as applicable.
 
Responsibilities
·        Complete department tasks under the direction of an assigned supervisor.
·        Assist with job take-offs, shop drawings and field measurements.
·        Perform discipline specific calculations and coding, as assigned.
·        Support discipline-specific tasks for proposal work.
·        Work on other miscellaneous projects, as assigned.
 
Preferred Skills
·        Proficiency with MS Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
·        Computer aided drafting experience.
·        Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
·        Organization and time management skills.
·        Ability to take initiative on projects.
·        Demonstration of professionalism.
·        Well-developed analytical skills.
·        High attention to detail.
 
Job Requirements
 
·        Hold a minimum 3.0 GPA
·        Willingness to relocate for both internship and future full-time opportunities

Benefits​:
·        $12.00 per hour pay with maximum of 40 hours per week potential.
