Quality Technician

The Quality Technician will be based in our Pompano Beach, Florida manufacturing facility and will report to the Quality Manager. This role is responsible to audit, evaluate, inspect and sustain the Company Operating Systems in compliance with ISO 9001-2015. They are to conduct work with Manufacturing and Engineering to support Lean process and product improvement initiatives. Thyis would include collectin/analyzing/reporting data, application of statistical methods, and detailed cross-functional process evaluation.
           
Duties:           
·        Monitor and maintain the Quality operating systems in compliance with ISO 9001-2008. This includes:
·        Calibrating tools
·        Managing outside suppliers - test labs, shipments
·        Maintain the computer tracking system for all calibration
·        Maintain certificate files for calibrated tools
·        Maintain Spreadsheet of Parts and suppliers
·        Repair gauge sets and other small tools
·        Conduct data collection activities as required
·        Lead or work on process improvement projects with various teams
·        Work from sketches or final form drawings of product to include: sheet metal, wiring diagrams, wiring harness, assembly procedures, and test procedures. Conform to ISO 9001:2015 standards and procedures
·        Knowledge of Bill of Materials
·        Blueprint Reading
·        Participate in MRB Review team
·        Support NPI activities
·        Perform various inspections on new or potential non-conforming parts
·        Participate in the Corrective & Preventive action system management
·        Conduct audits in safety, process, and Internal Audits
·        Assist with QA Documentation Control
·        Assist in fabrication of production test devices and stations
·        Train or assist Production personnel to properly utilize test equipment
·        Assist in evaluation of alternate parts offered by Purchasing and outside vendors
·        Support projects by gathering technical specifications for use in working with other support departments/teams
·        Communicate / follow up with CARs
 
 
Qualifications:
·        Minimum High School graduate or GED. 
·        Minimum one year factory Quality Management/ISO experience
·        Prefer candidate to be certified in ISO9000 Internal Auditing
·        Prefer candidate to be CQT
·        Microsoft Office a must – Word, Excel, Internet, and e-mail
·        Must be fluent in English speech, writing and reading
·        Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and other specifications
·        Possess or able to obtain EPA Type I and II Certification
·        Basic computer programming a plus

Physical Demands:
  • The employee is frequently required to sit

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
