Process Engineer

Job Description 
The Process Engineer is a key contributor and champion of our Facilities effort to drive IL6S (Integrated Lean Six Sigma) continuous improvement initiatives, with the goal to achieve best in class results in Safety, Quality, Cost, and Efficiency. The Process Engineer focuses on driving process and capability improvement by utilizing data analysis, problem solving skills, and by being to coach and train others on standards and new IL6S practices. The position allows for creativity, engagement in all areas of manufacturing, and an abundance of leadership opportunities. 

The position reports directly to the Operation Line Leader and will be a member of the Core Team (cross functional team) on a single or multiple production lines. He/she will participate in the daily management routine of the line/process with their responsibility being to focus the group on the top losses through data, and coach through the resolution and problem solving initiatives. This role also plays an important role in understanding and analyzing process capability (through statistical analysis) and using the IL6S tools (ex: 5S, CIL, Centerlines, Visual Standards, Statistical Process Capability) to drive line efficiency improvements as well as ensure employee capability is being built. The Process Engineer must develop a strong partnership with operations, maintenance, quality, R&D, and engineering to lead various productivity initiatives and act as a strong change agent in order to motivate and influence others. 

Responsibilities  
• Facilitate loss deployment for the area of responsibility and prioritize efforts on the Core Centric Team
• Engage in Daily Management System (DMS) to solve problems using tools such as Working Principles, Root Cause Analysis, statistical analysis, pareto, control charts, etc.
• Coach, train, and develop team members at all levels of the organization in IL6S Tools (Process Capability, 5S, CIL, Centerlining,
• Develop strong technical and analytical knowledge around manufacturing processes
• Maintain and create appropriate documentation for reports, project execution, and data analysis
• Capture and communicate learnings to enable best practice replication
• Develops ownership and accountability in daily operations and plant results
• Execute and becomes an advocate for problem solving tools and root cause mentality
• Acts as a change agent in implementing IL6S (TPM) methodology in the organization.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• BS degree in Engineering or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience (5 years preferred) managing process improvement teams in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in an established World Class Manufacturing facility (TPM, Lean, 6 Sigma or High Performance Work Systems) strongly preferred
• Strong problem solving and data analysis skills - Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Preferred
• Proficient experience delivering quantified results through cross functional teams – leading and coaching
• Training and Mentoring skills to develop Problem Solving capability
• Strong computer skills; proficient in the use of MS Office Applications, specifically Excel
• Experience with Minitab and other statistical analysis tools strongly preferred.
• Experienced and active in employee engagement activities
• Ability to work off-shifts and weekends as required by the business
