General Engineer

As the General Engineer at the GS -7 level, you will:

  • Under close supervision, support the planning, management, and evaluation of technical programs to serve as a program manager; use creativity in development of innovative project management and engineering techniques, along with contribute to resolution of problems/issues.
  • Under close supervision, assist in data collection, apply analytical tools/ techniques to the assess program effectiveness, prepare presentations, and update officials on new energy technology developments.
  • Under close supervision, support formulation, justification, presentation and oversight of program budget.
  • Under close supervision, evaluate field site and contractor performance. Conduct manual reviews of budget documents, strategic plans, management commitments, regulatory compliance agreements and incentive contracts and fees to ensure consistency with HQ guidance and approved baseline, review/improve critical path, and recommend performance measures, and key milestones/events.
  • Under close supervision, prepare general correspondence and reports; conduct analysis of legislative, regulatory, and policy initiatives affecting the national energy infrastructure; assess implications of program and technology policy objectives, draft briefing papers and reports; maintain effective communications and productive working relationships with program stakeholders, and other program managers.

As the General Engineer at the GS- 9 level, you will:
