Capital Projects Manager

What You'll Be Doing:
This position is responsible for professional engineering and administrative work coordinating capital projects for the Department of Public Works and Capital Projects. Work involves responsibility for performing a variety of administrative and reporting tasks to properly administer major capital projects. Work includes developing specifications and scope of work for contracts, reviewing capital project expenditures, and monitoring design engineers, preparing plans and specifications and contractor work to assure compliance with contract plans and specifications.

Recruitment Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.; minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience in civil engineering and design, construction contract administration, or construction inspection, or equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible managerial/supervisory experience; Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure, or ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment; valid drivers license and a safe driving record.

Preferred: Advanced degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Management or related field; minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of progressively responsible managerial/supervisory experience; bilingual in English/Spanish.
