Air Resources Engineer
EL MONTE, CA LOCATION: The Diesel On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) Section is recruiting for an Air Resources Engineer vacancy in the OBD Branch, which is responsible for regulatory development, certification, and enforcement of light-duty and heavy-duty OBD systems for current and future on-road emission control systems and powertrains. Under the direction of an Air Resources Supervisor I, the successful candidate will be involved in reviewing and approving manufacturers' OBD system certification applications. Duties will also include evaluation of the in-use performance of certified OBD systems for proper detection of faulty emission control components and illumination of the check engine light at the appropriate time relative to emission increases.
