Help secure our valuable water resources by building, creating, and modifying application software or specialized programs to aid District staff in support of our mission. You will have the opportunity to analyze customer needs and develop application solutions to meet those needs. The Senior Business Application Developer will design or customize application solutions that optimize operational efficiency and will analyze and design databases that hold data for the developed applications.

Compensation: $65,000.00 - $79,000.00, pay grade 116
Essential Functions
- Efficiently gather business requirements for proposed projects.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SME) and main stakeholders to successfully identify the need of the end customer.
- Identify and evaluate existing software technologies that can be used to achieve desired goals.
- Develop architectural models for data structure in the database and architect the Business Solution code repository to achieve the ultimate performance of the final product.
- Create the data objects according to the architectural schema that was developed.
- Determine and design system specifications; design, develop, test, and implement complex software business logic and programs to meet business and customer needs.
- Use scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome of design.
- Maintain, modify, and improve software performance.
- Revise programs for corrections, enhancements, or environment changes.
- Investigate and correct problem areas and analyze the existing software solution to understand and follow code, detect where the change needs to be implemented, determine the best way to implement or fix the change, and test the system after the change implementation.
- Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code in order to provide a point of reference for customers and other developers using the application in the future.
Required Credentials for Senior Business Application Developer Opportunity
- Bachelors degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Six (6) years related work experience
- Valid Driver's License
