Structural Engineer Internship Position

Axiom Structures is currently seeking motivated and qualified candidates for a structural engineering internship opportunity. The position requires use of AutoCAD, Excel calculations, and being able to physically inspect structures. You will need your own computer and ability to interact remotely most of the time 9-5.

We can only accept candidates that have already learned 2D AutoCAD at a basic level. Construction experience is a plus but is not as important as attitude and willingness to learn the industry.

Objectives:

-Learn structural engineering concepts relating to field work such as beam moment, dead loads, wind loads, shear, tension, and deflection.

-Calculate hurricane wind load pressures

-Design structural retrofit / reinforcement details in AutoCAD
