Job Description
The career level process engineer, able to work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision. Skilled in equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for the production of parts. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where creativity and initiative is exercised as well as independent judgment.

As a Manufacturing Process Engineer you would be responsible for working with other team members on problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives on daily basis. You will influence manufacturing process development and definitions, define efficient material flow, and make new proposals for equipment in production areas. Your work will directly add to the bottom line!  
Responsibilities:  
Technical Rotation and Career Knowledge (TRACK) Program for Global Propulsion Systems – Manufacturing Engineering (GPSME) is a developmental program for recent college graduates. The GPSME version of TRACK is designed to provide these incoming employees with relevant manufacturing engineering & manufacturing plant environment experiences in various areas of the business. This will develop a good foundation of knowledge from which to grow into a more effective employee in a shorter timeframe and for launching a career.  
Typical assignments in GPSME would entail some combination of the following opportunities:  
  • “PROCESS ENGINEER” 
  • “EXECUTION ENGINEER” 
  • Assignment within other GPSME Engineering areas (e.g. Product Interface & Technical Processes; Operational Excellence) and potentially “CAN” include one of: 
  • Focus Factory Engineering role (EE, ME, or IE) 
  • Group Leader role (Maintenance; Operations (Machining or Assembly) 
  • ME center; for a specific exposure relevant to the individual’s development 
  • Assigned multi-functionally to another department within GM 
  • Assigned to other specific developmental opportunities that may arise or be requested by the TRACK Employee 
Travel requirements – up to 25%  
Job locations can be at Manufacturing Engineering headquarters in Warren, Michigan or in various plant locations throughout the U.S. Plant locations may include:

Additional Job Description
Basic Qualifications  
  • Possess or pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering or Operations Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Biosystems or Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Production Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or Nanotechnology (Graduated January 2019 - June 2021)
  • Must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale 
  • Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week
