[SYSTE01523] Systems Engineer

SimVentions, consistently voted one Virginia's Best Places to Work, is looking for a System Engineer to work very closely with the Program Executive Office (PEO) Integrated Warfare Systems (IWS) 10 on the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) and the Navy’s integrated warfare and combat systems program. The candidate will be required to work combat system architectures, using interfaces and modelling as well as use experience working with a team to resolve technical interface issues. The candidate shall be knowledgeable in common Navy and PEO IWS processes. The candidate shall be proficient at assisting customers in planning, execution, and management of project requirements, and shall possess strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. The position will require periodic travel to the Washington DC area, Dahlgren, VA and Norfolk, VA.
Responsibilities:
  • Create and update combat system architectures
  • Understand combat system interfaces
  • Ability to resolve technical interface issues
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with combat system operations (either AEGIS or SSDS)
  • Ability to develop architecture models and diagrams such as OV-1 and SV-1s
  • Ability to brief senior leadership, and be able to collaborate with program office and other contractors
  • Proficient in the Microsoft tools (Visio, Power Point, Excel, Project)
  • Ability to identify and manage risks
Education: A high school degree, or a GED, and more than twenty (20) years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and fifteen (15) years of relevant experience OR, a master's degree in a relevant field and ten (10) years of relevant experience.
Clearance: Final Secret Clearance
Location: Fredericksburg, VA 
Travel: Periodic travel to Washington D.C, Dahlgren, VA and Norfolk, VA
