FinTech Program Coordinator

MassChallenge is looking for an organized individual to play a pivotal role on the FinTech team as the Program Coordinator. You will support the FinTech Program on strategic initiatives, such as promoting startup success, manage and document processes, and be the go-to contact for the startups in our cohort. Reporting to FinTech Senior Program Manager, this role is all about collaboration and serving as the team’s utility player. This means you will support the different functions of our team, learning about and contributing to each one. This position will give you a strong understanding of the business, accelerate your organizational skills, and provide opportunities for growth within the FinTech team and MassChallenge overall. In this role, you will have the opportunity to impact this program and its startups.
A note on location: this position will be based out of our Boston, MA office which is currently closed because of the global COVID-19 pandemic. It is highly likely that this position starts virtual/remote which means you can be located anywhere in the U.S. to start while working east coast hours. We anticipate opening the office no earlier than September 8, 2020, at reduced capacity and with strict safety measures in place. Once our office opens, you would be expected to come in, and at this time we are not able to provide relocation assistance.
What You’ll Do
Collaborate Across the FinTech Team
  • Be the team’s utility player (generalist), supporting the Operations, Marketing, and Partnerships team members with high priority requests. 
  • Support will be primarily operations focused with activities ranging from startup services to judging activities and planning for key program events, more details on this in the next section.
  • Help the team meet tight deadlines and anticipate needs for work on projects.
Support FinTech Program Activities
  • Project manage our startup sourcing process for our program application cycle that runs through September-October 2020.
  • Take a lead role in building relationships with startup teams and support the application process by providing information and answering questions.
  • Help facilitate expert and partner online judging (how we determine which startups get into our program) by organizing a clear timeline, communications strategy, and leveraging our internal platform to execute this activity.
  • Plan and execute key events for our program, including our Matchmaking event in December that is curated to match partners and startups.
  • Contribute to program process improvement to support us in developing innovative ways to deliver an exceptional program for our partners and startups.
Who You Are and What You Bring
  • You have 0-1 year of work experience. Experience in the financial services industry or with startups is a plus. Note: We invite spring 2020 graduates to apply!
  • You have strong organizational skills, including the ability to set priorities, juggle multiple tasks, organize time effectively, conduct research, and identify resources for projects.
  • You are detailed oriented and see the value in contributing to the administrative work required to grow a new venture.
  • You have interpersonal skills, including the ability to work both in groups and to develop strong working relationships with internal staff and external constituents.
  • You have a high degree of motivation and self-discipline with a strong work ethic. You are able to work independently to execute on projects.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading and editing.
  • You provide high-quality service through responsiveness to all requests and maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
  • You are tech-savvy and can quickly pick up platforms you haven’t used before (we use Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Airtable, and Asana).
