Marine Diesel Technician

Summary: As a Marine Diesel Technician for the small vessel operations, you will be required to carry out all aspects of diesel troubleshooting and repair responsibilities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Installing and rigging of all major diesel brands.
- Diagnose and repair all major diesel brands, both conventional and D.E.C engines.
- Proficiently use computer diagnostic tools.
- Install and repair of vessels 12v DC systems.
- Install and repair of hydraulic steering systems.
- Forklift driving and training.
- Taking classes or courses as needed to advance your technical skills.
- Inventory control of the materials used for the job.
- Keeping the work area clean and presentable daily.
- Perform other duties as required by management.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-year experience in the marine diesel industry.
- Must have 12V electrical boat systems experience/skills, e.g., bilge pumps/float switches, lighting, live wells, etc.
- Certification from accredited schools or manufactures school a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have the proper tools to perform the trade (Specialty tools provided by PYM.)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Possess a valid US driver’s license.
