Marine Diesel Technician

Summary: As a Marine Diesel Technician for the small vessel operations, you will be required to carry out all aspects of diesel troubleshooting and repair responsibilities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Installing and rigging of all major diesel brands.
  • Diagnose and repair all major diesel brands, both conventional and D.E.C engines.
  • Proficiently use computer diagnostic tools.
  • Install and repair of vessels 12v DC systems.
  • Install and repair of hydraulic steering systems.
  • Forklift driving and training.
  • Taking classes or courses as needed to advance your technical skills.
  • Inventory control of the materials used for the job.
  • Keeping the work area clean and presentable daily.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-year experience in the marine diesel industry.
  • Must have 12V electrical boat systems experience/skills, e.g., bilge pumps/float switches, lighting, live wells, etc.
  • Certification from accredited schools or manufactures school a plus.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have the proper tools to perform the trade (Specialty tools provided by PYM.)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Possess a valid US driver’s license.
