Process Development Engineer

Responsible for aiding in the development of ISG manufacturing processes in support of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process as well as aiding in the optimization of existing processes. Interfaces with Product Development Engineering (PDE), Standard Product Engineering (SPE), Purchasing, Planning, supply chain, Quality, Customer Service and Product Management to document and release manufacturing processes of new products, and assist in all other aspects of the NPI process. Works with PDE, SPE and Field Service to solve product issues at customer sites after release.  Maintains and augments New Product Introduction Process. Develops and sustains process improvements to reduce cost and improve efficiency on new and existing product lines.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and Maintenance of the NPI process
  • Works with all departments to ensure new products are introduced into standard production workflow.
  • Hosts process development meetings to inform stakeholders of the current status of new manufacturing processes
  • Works with vendors (internal and external) to ensure part manufacturability and implement process improvements
  • Collection and Analysis of process data to show process/manufacturing improvement progress and opportunities

Requirements:
Ø Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
Ø Experience: 1-3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting
Ø Skills/Technical Requirements: Must demonstrate understanding of part fabrication techniques and methods. Computer skills to include MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Share Point and Outlook). Experience in statistical tools such as Minitab is desired. Strong written and verbal communication skills

Job Conditions/Physical Demands: Based in Cohu MN, with potential travel to Cohu manufacturing facilities. Will require travel to local vendors.
