UI Designer (Co-op)
Working Remote – Lab locations Quincy, MA and Mooresville, NC
Are you passionate about design and innovation? Do you spend time figuring out how to improve the mobile apps you use? Then come and join our Propulsion Labs team at Retail Business Services, a proud company of Ahold Delhaize, a startup environment in the middle of a big corporate office. We are looking for passionate and curious problem solvers who are not afraid of working in a fast-paced environment alongside a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
➔ Work closely with the development team (front-end developers, back-end developers, product owner and scrum master)
➔ Conduct basic research for projects (primary & secondary research, prototyping, user testing, ect)
➔ Design users flows, create lo-fi, mid-fi, and hi-fi screens all while maintaining the business requirements
➔ Present designs / process to team leads and business contacts for feedback
➔ Participate in all Scrum Ceremonies
➔ Provide design elements, style guides, comps, templates, and finished solutions
➔ Provide guidance and feedback during sessions to help other designers on the team
Qualifications:
➔ Experience with information architecture, interaction design and user experience for mobile and web solutions
➔ Strong communication skills, written and verbal
➔ Comfortable interfacing with business contacts to gather business requirements and feedback on our solutions with the team’s product owner
➔ Focus on modern and emerging design trends
➔ Understanding of design concepts and strong ability to design applications with focus on usefulness, usability, visual design, content and branding
➔ Have a passion for Design Thinking Methodologies and teaching others the benefits
➔ Ability to wireframe and prototype working demo solutions quickly
➔ Prior experience using design tools at (at least 1 year) (Adobe Suite, Sketch / Figma, etc.)
➔ Online portfolio is a must
➔ Experience with moderated usability testing a plus
Required Programs: Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
Nice to Know Programs: InDesign and AfterEffects
