Digital Media Specialist - Videographer (Libraries)

Salary Disclosure:
Starting Salary: $44,825.00
Pay Grade: P37

General Description: The Digital Media Specialist reports to the Pasco County Libraries Media Content Coordinator and supports the execution of content across multiple social media channels and web-based platforms. In addition to generating, scheduling and publishing social media content, the incumbent will engage in videographic duties for all content creation and organize all content requirements. The Digital Media Specialist handles inbound requests relating to Website and Social Media video and will assist the Media Content Coordinator in curating content and development for the Pasco County Libraries Services.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE/RECOVERY ACTIVITIES: All employees will be required to work before, during, or after an emergency. During an emergency employees may temporarily be assigned to work and perform duties outside the normal scope of their position, location and work schedule to fit the needs of the County and its citizens. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Write, produce and create various pieces of content including blog posts, social media posts, videos, emails, e-newsletters, etc.
  • Contribute story ideas and content to editorial calendar in support of stated strategies; ensure alignment of message and the ability to execute in a timely fashion.
  • Operate with a brand publisher mindset: create content our audiences are looking for and then optimize the path to conversion and/or engagement.
  • Create and implement all published digital content (images, video, written), including updates to the PCLS website, weekly email blasts, and daily posting to related social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.).
  • Create relevant, original, high-quality content that increases customer engagement within digital mediums to drive PCLS visibility.
  • Execute social media calendar, strategy and content to increase visibility and growth.
  • Attend off-site local events as necessary to garner content for social platforms and PCLS website. Assist Program Manager in compiling weekly and monthly reports to measure results and optimize strategy and tactics, and
  • Performs related work as assigned or required.
 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Skilled in articulating ideas verbally, and in writing.
  • Skilled at both long-form content creation and real-time (immediate) content creation and distribution strategies and tactics.
  • Ability to operate a video camera and video editing software to produce brief, compelling video content for social media.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize projects.
  • Advanced Knowledge of Pasco County and passionate about PCLS.
  • Knowledge of graphic design, multi-media and presentation software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere/ Final Cut.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Wordpress and Adobe Creative Suite. Fluency in web analytics tools (Google Analytics) and social media marketing applications (Crowdriff, HootSuite etc.).
  • Previous libraries associated experience preferred.
 Minimum Requirements:PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and visual communication. Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs; ability to bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, reach and climb frequently. 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in advertising, communications, journalism, marketing or business or related field and three (3) years of experience in an advertising agency or design firm or previous business experience in social media marketing OR an Associate's Degree (in one of the above stated areas) and five (5) years of the experience stated above.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid driver's license.
