Women Photographers International Archive (WOPHA) seeks an intern to assist with preparations for and production of the 2021 WOPHA Congress, a two-day creative symposium that seeks to create a place for photography in Miami. WOPHA Congress brings together worldwide organizations of women photographers, art historians, and curators who aim to build upon and better represent the dynamic history of women photographers from the 19th Century through today. It will create a highly visible, interactive event presenting daily panels and presentations from Thursday, November 18, 2021, to Friday, November 19, 2021, at Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM).

We are seeking qualified, emerging professionals to liaison between the Director of WOPHA Congress and participating speakers and venues. Duties will include, but are not limited to: updating event timelines, checklists, mailing lists and other documents; general support for the Director; and oversight of a two (2) person volunteer team during the Congress.

The ideal candidate has an interest in Art History and Photography; working with diverse audiences and excellent written and oral communication skills. Preferences: Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus, but not a requirement. This position will work remotely six (6) hours a week with requirement of full availability during Congress dates November 18 & 19th, 2021. While the internship is currently unpaid, there will be an hourly pay of $10.00 for work during the Congress.

Your volunteer internship will support WOPHA’s mission to create a more equitable representation of women in the photographic arts and will work to inspire future generation of scholars and artists in the field. Visit wopha.org for more information on our organization. Academic credits available.
