Engineering Intern

Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op is responsible for supporting the Engineering Manager with various projects.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties are:
The following duties are typical for this classification. The employee may not perform all of the listed duties and or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those listed below to address business needs and changing business practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Learn the process of documenting existing processes and developing future state maps
2. Learn how to conduct time studies
3. Learn how to apply Lean Manufacturing Techniques (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Cause and Effect Matrix, Single Piece Flow, etc.)
4. Learn about business case analysis and return on investment
5. Participate in production and brainstorming sessions
6. The Co-Op will report to the Engineering Manager on a daily basis.
Qualifications/Requirements:
1. Ability to work as a team member as well as independently.
2. Proficient computer skills, including SolidWorks, Windows, Word and Excel.
3. Acute attention to detail required.
4. Entry level Mechanical and Technical knowledge
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Ability and willingness to learn.

Essential Physical Demands
• Continuous sitting or standing for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work additional hours when needed.
• Must be able to work well in a fast paced, demanding environment.
• Must have the ability to multi-task.
• Minimal lifting of product in 0 to 40-pound range.
Qualifications:
• Must have earned at least 56 credits at an accredited 4-year collage with a major in the field of Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing and Industrial Technology.
• 3.0 GPA Preferred
• An interest in continuous improvement

• Enjoys working on challenging projects
• Excellent attitude
• Hard working and attention to detail
