Integration Engineer ( Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering)

Job Description

Vanderlande’s Engineering Department is responsible for the design, specification and commissioning of material handling systems for our customers. In this position you will be responsible for executing and configuring the controls software for the shuttle-based automated storage and retrieval system. The Integration Engineer works closely with the ADAPTO Engineers, Controls Project Lead, Team’s Project Manager, subcontractors and Mechanical engineers involved throughout the life of the project.

Responsibilities:
o  Execute projects from with a positive result contribution on technical performance and financial results.
o  Assists Senior Integration Engineer and High-level Software Engineers in the execution of complex, small/medium/large, and unique projects.
o  Monitor internal quality of Controls deliverables to ensure high first pass yield.
o  Learn, interpret, and apply procedures, standards, and regulations.
o  Select (partial) solutions from standardized solutions and re-used standard modules under direction of lead engineer(s).
o  Configure and commission automated storage and retrieval system shuttles and peripheral equipment.
o  Execute test plans (FAT, SAT, load, rate, system tests) under direction of lead engineer(s).
o  Develop in all aspects of managing the control systems execution.
o  Communicate closely with other groups within VI and the project team (i.e. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Sales/Proposal Engineering, and Installation).
o  Support continuous improvement actions to elevate the experience of other Controls Project Engineers.

Basic Qualifications:
o  Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics/Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering
o   Experience in implementation of material handling systems or industrial controls systems or PLC applications (Allen-Bradley Preferred, Siemens is also valuable).
o  Must be willing and able to travel 75% routinely, with increased amounts if projects demand.
o  This position may require occasional on-call after-hours support.
Preferred Qualifications:
o  Experience with computer-based drafting/design; Auto CAD.
o  Communication and networking (i.e. ASibus, Ethernet, TCP/IP, Controlnet).
o  HMI/SCADA experience (Panelview, Ignition preferred).
o  Ability to read structured text, write preferred
