Summary of Internship
Internship positions provide an opportunity for business, engineering and science students to get hands on experience in a marketing and sales environment. This internship will be responsible for advancing the digital / social media profile and support targeting of younger scientists in the lab by exploring new digital channels.
Internship responsibilities within this Marketing/Sales internship may include but are not limited to:
- Strategic Marketing
- Digital Marketing
- Sales Operations
- Sales Development
- Sales Support
Hiring Locations may include Lenexa, KS or Cleveland, OH
Essential Functions:
- Developing a social media calendar, incl. liaising with marketing/brand management on upcoming campaigns/events/product launches.
- Developing social media content to support these campaigns and managing approval process and scheduling.
- Utilizing LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter via Hootsuite, as well as Elevate, and connecting with our commercial teams and senior leaders to promote engaging content.
- Supporting our digital advertising program, including Google Ads, with media planning and content development. Identifying new digital channels and opportunities for new content development.Effective project management adhering to established timelines.
Qualifications:
- Student currently enrolled in classes leading to an accredited Bachelor’s degree in business
- Preferred majors: Business Management, Business Marketing, or Communications
- Strong desire and motivation to develop a career in Marketing or Sales
- Strong leadership and team building skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team
- Willingness to learn, be mentored, and improve
- Exceptional customer focus
- Desire to teach other engineers and scientist about technology in area of expertise
- Previous industrial experience is preferred
- Social media marketing experience
- Experience with using Hootsuite is a plus but not required
- Aptitude for working with hands and having experience using hand-tools may be beneficial
- Accuracy and attention to detail is required in performing all functions of this position.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills are required.
