We are seeking a motivated, creative Master Planner/Supervisor (Planning Supervisor) with outstanding analytical and critical thinking capabilities, design experience, and a consistent record of providing leadership and negotiating successfully for the highest quality design and development for our Midcounty Planning Division, Regulatory Review Team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the design process, zoning, planning, community engagement, and development potential. This position requires extensive experience in project leadership and development coordination and excellent oral and written communication skills.


Examples of Important Duties
  • Leading a team responsible for the regulatory review and analysis of development applications, including sketch plans, preliminary plans, site plans, as well as zoning and conditional use requests.
  • Fostering the implementation of master plans for targeted planning areas.
  • The ability to work directly with residents, developers, planners, architects, engineers, attorneys and public officials to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Fieldwork and occasional evening and weekend meetings are required.

Minimum Qualifications
Planning Supervisor: Master's degree in planning, architecture, parks, engineering, environmental science, public administration, or related fields and six years of progressively responsible professional level planning experience that included at least three years of supervisory experience or project leadership and coordination experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
