Technical Marketing Specialist & Commercial Development

DuPont Performance Building Solutions is an industry leader of innovative building envelope products to support the residential and commercial construction markets.  To meet new and exciting challenges in a fast-growing and dynamic environment, an opportunity has arisen for a technical marketing specialist in either Midland, MI or Wilmington, DE. The position is intended to provide successful candidates the opportunity to learn DuPont’s Performance Building Solutions product line and customers within the technical marketing group, with future opportunity to transition into either sales or marketing roles to further expand their impact on the business. 

The role
This position involves working in a collaborative environment of building science professionals to provide technical support of our existing products and systems across North America. Functions of this role include working alongside sales, marketing, R&D, and customer service to respond to technical inquiries from contractors and developers, develop new technical collateral, and aid overall growth of our existing portfolio of solutions. A successful candidate will:
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations to address the technical needs of the customer for various projects
  • Resolve issues on construction projects by holistically defining the problem, gathering, measuring, and analyzing the appropriate data, and developing effective solutions consistent with the results of the data
  • Demonstrate sound building science knowledge with an emphasis on building envelope design and construction best practices
  • Develop print and online content of product data, training tools, installation guides, industry communications, promotional literature, advertising, FAQs, and other supporting technical collateral
  • Ensuring accuracy and consistency of all technical content of collaterals mentioned above
  • Manage and verify accuracy of product warranty documentation process
  • Ensure the quality of DuPont products and services are always aligned with customer expectations

Job Qualification



  • Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering or similar engineering degree with an emphasis in building and construction
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a related role or field (internships/co-ops included)
  • Minimum cumulative overall GPA of 3.00 / 4.00
  • Authorization to work in US without future restriction
