Landscape Architecture Internship

Miller Legg & Associates Inc., is seeking a Landscape Architect Student Intern to join our Landscape Architecture Team, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This is an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join a team of talented professionals. This individual will work collaboratively in a team setting on the development of conceptual designs, production of drawings, permitting and on-site administration. Candidate must be highly motivated and a self-starter. The Landscape Architect Student Intern will work on private sector, federal, state, and local government projects. These projects will include transportation landscaping such as gateways, buffers, interchanges, residential, commercial design, streetscapes, and entry features.

  • As an “Essential Business”, Miller Legg’s offices in Fort Lauderdale and Doral, Florida are open for business.
  • Estimated time spent working in the office is 90%, remote work as needed.
  • Duration of internship will be minimum 3 months, 6 months preferred, with possibility of future employment upon graduation, based on job performance.
  • Student Learning Objectives:
Planting design
             Project lead and coordination
             Hardscape design and layout
             Conceptual design
Irrigation design
Grading Details

  • Hours worked per week is flexible, in accordance with student’s class schedule.
  • Directly reporting to Senior Landscape Architect ( Department Head).
  • Intern will be provided with an ample workspace, desktop computer equipped with appropriate industry software, and appropriate onboarding orientation and training.

**Local candidates preferred, no housing stipend provided.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture
• Previous internship experience preferred
• Strong freehand illustration and rendering skills
• Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office including PowerPoint preferred
• Experience with Photoshop, InDesign, Sketchup, Illustrator, MicroStation, GIS/ArcView preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
