UNPAID HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT INTERNSHIP

INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
The Human Resources Intern will have the ability to interact with management in a fast-paced environment, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient; a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role. This person will use a high level of creativity and analytical skills to complete projects within the department.

·        Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and follow through on project deadlines in a timely manner.
·        Leverage project management tools to track company-wide HR projects and initiatives.
·        Research and offer update recommendations for Employee Handbook
·        Assist the department in carrying out various Human Resources programs and procedures for all company employees.
·        Complete applicant tracking research and prepare recommendations
·        Coordinate completion of all employee record retention requirements;
·        Learn basics of benefits enrollment and administration;
·        Perform job analysis and update to Job Descriptions as a key major project
·        Participate in HR staff meetings and events
·        Perform other HR administrative duties and responsibilities.

Experience Requirements:
• High school diploma required.
• Currently a student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Development or other related field.
• Exposure to the HR field preferred.
• Requires strong Excel skills; strong internet skills preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Projects or other project management tools preferred.
• Experience with PowerPoint, Visio, Canva, Publisher preferred.
• Prior experience with an HRIS database preferred.
• Requires effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be exceedingly well organized, flexible and enjoy the challenges of multi-tasking

The internship can be customized to fit any school schedule, as long as you are available at least 15-18 hours per week. The HR Intern would ideally be able to work at least 2-3 days per week, on a part-time schedule, remote work is possible. Duration ideally would be 3 months, but can be adjusted based on the level of hours committed. Intern does need to be on-site at headquarters in Downtown Miami for once in a while meeting during scheduled hours, but mostly check-ins will be virtual zoom meetings
This is an unpaid internship that can be documented and/or verified for any school certification or requisite needed; and most of all, a true learning experience.
