Virtual Engagement and Communications Intern (Summer 2021)

Job purpose
The Communications and Engagement Intern is an exciting position to elevate the image of Atlas Corps through marketing strategies to promote our rapidly expanding global nonprofit! He/she will gain valuable knowledge of fundraising and communications, including though not limited to, marketing, social media, and campaign management.

Duties and responsibilities
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
  • Assist with the Atlas Corps social media strategy, with a focus on updates to our website, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, to build a community of the international Atlas Corps network. 
  • Assist with preparing materials to fundraising campaigns.
  • Assist in creation of physical and digital “publications” to be used for unique Atlas Corps audiences, which may include applicants, organizations, and/or potential funders.
  • Assist with the research and writing of Fellow stories and highlight pieces.
  • Assist with maintenance/updating of the Atlas Corps website (Wordpress).

Qualifications 
Qualifications include:
  • Earned or working towards a Bachelor’s degree
  • Technical skills — such as with social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn), using WordPress and Web-design software as Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign—are highly valued.
  • Ability to work independently, to establish priorities, to meet deadlines and to manage a variety of tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills; proven ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

The Communications Intern would be expected to work at least 15 hours a week.
