Donor Relations/Volunteer Coordinator

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Donor Relations/Volunteer Coordinator at the Tampa Area Command, located in Tampa, FL.

 

 

Assists the Development Director with fulfilling donor relations, database maintenance, record keeping, development and donor communication, volunteer recruitment, prospect research, community relations and minor and major special events coordination duties as required of the Development Department. The Donor Relations/Volunteer Coordinator Recruits, trains, coordinates, and monitors the work of volunteers ensuring ample staff to meet program needs; prepares records and reports regarding the same.

 

 

Knowledge of The Salvation Army structure, culture, mission, and protocol. Knowledge of Word and Excel software applications. Knowledge of the principles and practices of public relations. Ability to maintain self- motivation. Ability to prepare professional promotional materials. Ability to project a professional and positive image/attitude of The Salvation Army; friendly and professional demeanor. Ability to build effective working relationships with the media. Ability to recruit and train volunteers.

 

 

BS or BA degree from and accredited college or university in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or a related Business field and four years progressively responsible experience performing public relations functions and coordinating social services programs or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate the English language.

 

Work is performed in a normal office environment where there is little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
