Durango Facility Reach Associate

At Maricopa County Regional School District, we believe all students can experience academic and social success. Although students in juvenile detention have encountered challenges, we know skilled and caring teachers can ignite their love for learning and infuse a passion for pursuing their dreams. Under the guidance of a Multi-Classroom Leader (MCL), as a Reach Associate (RA) you will harness your relationships with students and staff to facilitate student learning. As the RA, you will have the opportunity to directly teach students as they engage in learning relevant to their individualized goals. You will work collaboratively with the MCL and team teachers to support you in using proven methods, as well as designing innovative ways to improve learning. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Collaborate with team to assess students’ ongoing academic and social-emotional progress.  Collaborate with team to evaluate students’ learning styles and preferences, and academic and social-emotional goals in order to create personalized education plans.  Collaborate with team to devise special strategies, including the use of digital learning or technology, as appropriate, for reinforcing skills and concepts based on the understanding of individual students and their needs, interests and abilities.  Instruct individual students, groups of students or classes of students in curricular areas guided by MCL.  Teach planned lessons using a variety of resources and materials including 1:1 computers, virtual reality, games, toys, and other hands-on manipulatives for conceptual understanding.  Supervise detained youth and be responsible for the safety, personal conduct, care, and rehabilitation of the youth.  Perform other duties as assigned
