Marketing Copywriter Intern (Remote)

1GS Digital Agency specializes in working with small business professional service firms and educational companies, specifically schools, law firms and e-commerce businesses across the United States.

The Marketing Copywriter Intern is responsible for creating original copy to support all written marketing communications in addition to scheduling posts and engaging with followers/customers. As a Copywriter, your tasks will include building copy for blogs, marketing ads, video scripts, email campaigns, press releases and any other supporting marketing material, including daily social media communications like captions, stories, reels/IGTV/videos and other applicable content. You will also be cross-trained on other marketing related tasks to support the operations and fulfillment of client projects. 


Compensation: $12/hr+ based on experience


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Conduct high-quality research and interviews 
  • Propose copy concepts and present underlying strategic thinking to business leaders 
  • Write high-engagement social media content that reflects our brand's voice and the needs of our clients
  • Write original copy and edit content for a range of corporate marketing and communications materials 
  • Interpret creative direction and adapt points from creative briefs into persuasive copy concepts 
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects with short deadlines, maintaining communication and documenting project status
  • Drive brand consistency across all company communications 
  • Perform market research to identify trends and opportunities to improve performance and digital content
  • Participate in team meetings with clients and write plans to meet the client’s needs through copy 
  • Collaborate with other teams as needed, such as creative, marketing, and more 


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 

  • With or currently pursuing an Associate's/Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, advertising, journalism, public relations, or relevant field or senior in this field.
  • Proven working experience as a Copywriter or relevant experience 
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a diligent eye for detail, language, flow, and grammar 
  • Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment
  • Strong computer skills for research and efficiently organizing copy for the creative team.
  • Ability to self-govern with minimum supervision, establish workload priorities, and to utilize efficient time management practices to ensure timely delivery of assigned tasks.
  • Knowledge of current trends, social media, and marketing tools
  • Ability to analyze data and draw a conclusion with both an analytical and a creative mindset
  • Ability to connect, build and maintain relationships, and stimulate discussion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic understanding of WordPress or other content management systems
  • Knowledge of Loomly, Slack and Asana is a plus. 
  • Experience creating content calendars in Google Sheets/Excel is a plus.
  • Go getter mindset, willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Experience working remote and independently is a plus.

We are looking for someone who is a self-starter and strong collaborator with great organizational and communication skills. This position calls for a digitally savvy individual who can work independently and drive results for a variety of clients. 

We expect you to be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to express our company's views creatively through copy. The person in this position is expected to work hand in hand with the Creative Team by researching and creating copy for the Creative Team to design posts, videos, and any other multimedia content for the calendar. The main priority for the position will be creating a content calendar for the agency’s and clients’ social media accounts, and then scheduling the content after it’s delivered by the Creative Team. Copy must be optimized for each social media, and proper research and use of hashtags/hashtag strategies to increase growth in all social media accounts is required. 

This position is remote, but local (south florida) presence is preferred. This position also has the opportunity to turn into a full-time position based on performance, so the ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, communicating when needed, and meeting deadlines.
