Bartender

The Rooftop at The Pointe on 30A is currently looking for Bartenders to serve beverages to our guests in the evenings on our rooftop. Our Bartenders are friendly, outgoing, and possess excellent communication skills. Guest experience is critical to our continued success, and you will play a major role in the overall quality of that experience. Your individual personality should shine through in order to thrill our guests. Bartenders will report to Corporate Owner and the Marketing Director.
Overview: Serve guests in hospitable manner to ensure positive guest experience.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, paper products, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet.
- Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for beer and wine. Pours drinks practicing prudent portion control.
- Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving beer and wine.
- Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale (POS) and creates a check for each guest, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
- Receives credit cards from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and insures vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys.
- Locks and stores all beverage and other equipment items.
- Ensures tables and chairs are neat, orderly, and clean before, during and after service
- Proficiency in ordering and daily inventory (incentives will be provided and are based on the accuracy of inventory and sales goals)
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have basic knowledge of beverage service.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a point of sale (POS) system, total guest checks, count total bank, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
- Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to pick up glassware and bottles, pour beer and wine, and reach, stoop or bend to retrieve stock, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to remember, recite and promote the beer and wine items, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand and work in a confined space for long periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
This position will pay an hourly wage ($12.00 - $18.00) based on experience + tips.
Shifts will occur generally between 2:00PM-10:00PM, during happy hour and sunset, every evening. Preparation for opening and closing procedures are included in the shifts.
