Special Events Coordinator - Winter Park

Salary range is $39,000 to $42,000 (based on experience)

Easterseals Florida, voted 2020 Great Place to Work by our staff, is seeking a dynamic, organized, and detail-oriented individual for the position of Special Events Coordinator in Winter Park, Florida.  The Special Events Coordinator plans, promotes, executes, and meets assigned fundraising goals for special events in the Central Florida area, and works with the Senior Director of Development to implement and achieve fundraising goals. This person is responsible for planning and executing a variety of events designed to engage the local community while raising funds to support Easterseals Florida's mission.

The qualified candidate for this position must demonstrate an understanding of fundraising and the donor development cycle, can make and maintain relationships within the community, and demonstrate solid follow-up and donor stewardship skills. You must have a proven ability to meet tight deadlines and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management, as well as being a quick and productive multitasker. You must be highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent project and time management skills. This position requires tremendous accuracy, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple projects. Typical work schedule is daytime from Monday through Friday, but some evenings and/or weekend hours may be required.

What we value:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An understanding of the importance of fundraising and how events relate to organizational fundraising goals
  • Experience soliciting businesses, local community leaders, and appropriate individuals for sponsorship opportunities, financial support, and in kind items
  • The ability to effectively communicate the Easterseals mission and vision while persuading others to support the cause
  • Experience in event planning including logistics, vendor, volunteer, and budget management
  • Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills; professional communication skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail, superior organizational and writing skills, and the ability to work quickly and efficiently
  • Self-starter who can efficiently handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, donor database software (Donor Perfect preferred), peer to peer fundraising or auction software (Qgiv, Qtego, Bid Pal preferred)
  • Available for evening and weekend events and activities
  • Due to the need to drive for the organization to pick up/deliver event materials, attend events and for other development needs, you must be at least 21 years old and have reliable transportation
