Admissions Counselor
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Understands higher education student recruitment, admissions marketing, and enrollment management profession in a professional not-for-profit, degree granting environment.
- Well-developed presentation and relationship building capabilities in order to effectively communicate the value of a Chiropractic professional education.
Ability to:
- Professionally represent Palmer College of Chiropractic at all times;
- Travel as needed for recruitment events; work various hours as job requires, including occasional nights/weekends
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with prospective students, alumni and employees.
- Work independently, with goal-oriented initiative, and implement decisions and develop contingencies that focus on results and outcomes;
- Communicate (written and orally) effectively;
- Perform assigned duties with time pressures and frequent interruptions and maintain concentration for significant periods of time; and
- Use general office equipment, personal computers and various software programs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree and 1-5 years of experience in admissions or enrollment at higher education institutions required; related marketing or soft sales experience may be considered. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Perform sedentary to light work in a ventilated, lighted and temperature-controlled setting.
- Frequent need to stand, stoops, walks, sit, lift objects up to 40 lbs., and perform similar actions during the work day.
- Up to 50% travel is required.
