Overview of the Position:
This position will assist the Public Affairs team to produce compelling visual and written communications to internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include travel to multiple locations around Austin, sometimes consecutively to shoot and edit video, take photos, design/develop marketing materials, create social media campaigns, write for the internal newsletter, maintain the website, and contribute to community outreach for the department of Public Works.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Traveling to multiple work locations to shoot high-quality digital footage. 
  • Digital film production, including working in Adobe Premiere. 
  • Working with sound and lighting. 
  • Utilizing Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and Adobe After Effects. 
  • Preparing written communication for the department.

Days and Hours: Flexible Monday through Friday, around 20 hours a week Hours may vary depending on work demands and business needs.

Travel:
The Public Works Department is comprised of multiple facilities located throughout Austin. If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

Additional Information: 
If you are identified as a top candidate, verification of your education, which may include High School graduation or GED, undergraduate and/or graduate degrees, will be required.
