Engineering Technician IV

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED.
 
MONTHS/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:  Seven (7) years’ experience supporting engineering work and testing or three years of applicable college/vocational training/military/technical schools and four years applicable experience in support of engineering work and testing.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Must be willing to work outside 60% of time regardless of weather conditions, to include hot/humid conditions, cold conditions, heights, and around ammunition and explosives. Must be able to come to work early, stay late, and work in shifts as testing schedule dictates. Must be willing to work paid overtime and travel at least 30% of the year. Must be capable of lifting 50lbs. and must possess, or be capable of obtaining a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Must be both mechanically as well as electrically inclined. Possess basic computer skills, to include the ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), and the ability to prepare informal test reports. Must work well with others, have a strong work ethic, be a motivated self-starter, be well organized and be on time to work.
 
DUTIES: Support the RTC Sensor and Platform Protection Group in determining the performance, capabilities, limitations, and problems with electro-optics, infrared sensors, lasers, and ultraviolet sensors, Hostile Fires Systems, Active Protection Systems, Force Protection Systems, Counter Unmanned Air Systems, and aircraft survivability systems. Must be able to develop requirements, procedures, and unique test methods for new and emerging sensor technologies. Regular communication with the customer will be required. Must have the ability to provide/project test status updates on a recurring basis. All work will be done under the direction of SOP's work procedures, and TSRA instruction.
 
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Active Security Clearance and an active Commercial Driver's License. Prefer both mechanical and electrical experience in the testing of military weapons systems
