Associate, Client Relations

About the role:
As an Associate in Client Relations you will work within a dedicated public affairs-oriented Client Relations team to support their accounts, help coordinate and implement issues-based advocacy campaigns and support business development activities. You are eager to learn about and embrace the intersection of public affairs, politics, technology and digital media.
In this entry-level and multi-faceted role, you will be part of a collaborative campaign team and work daily with other departments. Therefore, as an Associate, you will have strong interpersonal skills as well as an understanding of public affairs, political/grassroots strategy, and the confidence to engage with internal teams to achieve client objectives. You are an effective writer who is comfortable working in a deadline-driven, campaign-style work environment. This is an outstanding opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and knowledge of public affairs campaigns, integrated digital communications strategies and effective grassroots advocacy.
What you'll be doing:
- Provide campaign support for dedicated client management teams: manage campaign schedules, issue research, troubleshoot problems, draft client reports and meeting notes, and conduct background research
- Engage with technical projects through direct client communication and team coordination
- Conducts initial triage and research to confirm and help resolve non-technical client issues and escalates appropriate cases as necessary, leveraging resources across departments
- Social media campaign support including content brainstorming, social media monitoring and content creation and contribution for Twitter, Facebook, Blogs, YouTube, etc.
- Absorb & utilize key client information: campaign strategy, industry challenges, and DDC products and services
- Willingness to travel as necessary for client events and meetings
- Provides primary telephone, email and ticketing account support response for clients
- Provides client guidance and training on use and functionality of various services and applications provided by the company tracks all telephone and email cases in CRM database
- Facilitates accurate billing for assigned accounts by reviewing monthly time entries and making adjustments as needed to ensure compliance with client contracts
- Assists with departmental improvement tasks as assigned
- Willingness to travel as necessary for client events and meetings
- About you:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous internships/experience in a campaign or agency environment preferred (public relations, communications, public affairs or marketing)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organization skills is absolutely necessary for success in this position
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- High level of motivation and ability to thrive in campaign style work environment
- Outstanding verbal and written communications in effective ways to varied audiences, research and editing skills
- Ability to pick up new technologies quickly
