Showroom Sales Training Program

We are looking for a Showroom Trainee to join our growing team!

Since 1973, we have maintained a leading position in the wholesale distribution industry and offer first-class service to customers in the residential and commercial plumbing industries, home builders, interior designers, remodelers, and homeowners. We currently operate eight branch locations and seven showrooms throughout Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina.

Function: The chosen candidate for the Showroom Sales Trainee program will spend 12 months training throughout PDI showroom locations and in various departments with a focus on building the necessary knowledge and skills required for a successful sales position. The chosen trainee will work alongside seasoned professionals to help drive customer satisfaction, assist PDI’s external and internal customers, cultivate product knowledge, while building an understanding of customer segment.

The end goal of the Showroom Trainee Program is successful placement in a sales role as a Showroom Inside Sales employee, a Showroom Consultant, or in Showroom Management.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Successfully participate in assigned product training - plumbing & lighting product knowledge, selling skills, etc.
  • Regularly rotate between different locations and departments in the Atlanta metro area during various
  • portions of training, including required Saturday rotations
  • Continually develop the ability to assist quickly and efficiently support showroom staff
  • Attend regular follow-up and knowledge checks with training department and supervisor
  • Utilize business acumen to work with peers to solve problems, uncover customer needs
  • Execute multi-faceted computer data-entry to support design team needs.
  • Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sales items
  • Utilize information systems to serve various customer segments; including but not limited to Eclipse, Specbooks, and vendor online portals, etc.
  • Maintain awareness of, and actively participate in company-sponsored sales and marketing promotions
  • Work with branches to execute returns accurately and promptly
  • Follow company pricing and credit guidelines
  • Exemplifies excellent customer service, keeping customer satisfied and complaints to a minimum while maintaining a positive attitude
