Our co-op program is designed to provide you with real world experience and exposure in your area of study. These co-op opportunities are comprehensive, interactive and strategically integrated into the departmental function of Engineering. We are looking for co-ops with the right mix of talent and enthusiasm, with proven leadership skills, strong analytical and communication skills, and individuals with the ability to work cross functionally in a team setting!

The TTI Floor Care Engineering Co-Op provides a meaningful, 12-16 week paid spring, summer or fall opportunity for high-performing college students who are interested in an Engineering, Product Development or R&D career. Engineering at TTI Floor Care North America is responsible for the end-to-end management of finished product creation, from ideation to commercialization. The co-op will focus on quality testing, mechanical or electrical component design & testing, Pro E software work, and the overall product development process.

Location: 

This opportunity is located in the TTI Floor Care North America US headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. Housing stipend offered for co-ops located outside of a 50 mile radius from office.
Requirements:
This position is with the Engineering Systems team. This team works on all of the components that go into a floor care device. We analzye, design, build and test component systems which include: motors, fans, filters, dirt cups, nozzles, brush rolls. We also evaluate the cleaners as a complete unit. Cleaners use air & water to perform their tasks. We measure flow rates, pressure, speed, sound, debris pick-up, dirt pick-up and separation performance. We use state-of-the-art fluid flow simulation tools
(Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)) to design and analyze these components. With this in mind, the prefered candidate would meet these requirements:
  • Have an interest in fluid (air & water) handling equipment and how this equipment works
  • A Sophomore or Junior working towards undergraduate degree in the areas of Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related fields.
  • GPA of 3.0 and above (preferred)
  • Self-starter with strong communication, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Open to working in a dynamic and ever changing environment
  • Creative thinker with a strong aptitude for problem resolution
  • Sponsorship for work visas are not offered for this position
