APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Operations team plays a critical role in supporting the Partnership’s people and projects, enabling teams to further our mission to make the federal government more effective. As part of the Operations team, the HR and Operations intern will have a unique opportunity to support the organization’s project management, technology platforms, human resources and talent acquisition processes.
The HR and Operations intern will support our talent acquisition process from creation of position descriptions through hiring and onboarding of new employees. Specifically, the intern will work directly with the HR and Operations Associate to organize and re-brand hiring resources, create and update candidate communications and interview questions, and prepare new employee onboarding materials. The intern will support broader talent management through the creation and maintenance of position descriptions for positions across the organization.
The HR and Operations intern will support the Human Resources and Operations team more generally through administrative work, such as updating documents, organizing and creating resources, and maintaining records.
The intern will also provide operational support to our Senior Manager for Technology Platforms through conducting research on new technology platforms, helping to create trainings on various Microsoft 365 features, and additional administrative work. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in how technology use in the nonprofit sector is rapidly changing.

This position typically reports to a manager or associate manager.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment in Washington, DC. This position requires consistent use of office equipment such as computer, telephone, printer and scanner. Please note that as a result of COVID-19, Partnership staff are currently working remotely.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Business hours are Monday-Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, though exact work hours may vary depending on availability and need. Academic schedules will be accommodated; a part-time schedule may be considered. There may be occasional early morning or evening activities required.
TRAVEL
If travel occurs, it is local and during the business day.
PUBLIC SERVICE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The Public Service Internship Program is an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students as well as recent graduates to contribute to the Partnership’s mission while developing valuable professional skills.
Spring 2022 internships available in:
- Communications: 5 positions (ideal for those interested in communications, marketing, events planning)
- Development: 1 position (ideal for those interested in nonprofit fundraising and relationship management)
- Government affairs: 2-3 positions (ideal for those interested in the legislative process and federal policies)
- Government leadership and management programs (federal workforce, government effectiveness, leadership development): 6-8 positions (ideal for those interested in organizational and leadership development, human capital, business of government, the federal hiring process)
- Presidential transition: 2-3 positions (ideal for those interested in presidential transition)
- Research, analysis and program evaluation: 2-3 positions (ideal for those interested in social science research)
- HR and Operations: 1-2 positions (ideal for those interested in Human Resources)

VACCINATION POLICY
Effective October 15, 2021, all Partnership employees, regardless of position or physical location, must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as a condition of employment. A simple unnotarized copy of the official vaccination card or a notarized COVID-19 Vaccination Form attesting to full vaccination must be provided to the Vice President of Human Resources, prior to October 15, 2021. For new employees starting work with the Partnership on or after October 1, 2021, the documentation must be provided within two weeks after the start date.
If you believe you qualify for an exception from the requirements of this policy, for medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs, you must provide a letter (on letterhead) from your doctor or clergy to the Vice President of Human Resources by the above deadline.
