Email Marketing Strategist

What we’re looking for:
Senior Email Marketing Strategist is a highly impactful role and requires expertise in direct response space and the ability to collaborate across mailing, product and marketing teams. The incumbent will be reporting into and working closely with the VP, Marketing Operations to define and direct key opportunities for mail strategies, marketing content and digital journeys based on data signals. This leader will be responsible to develop data-driven marketing, content and messaging strategies addressing value to the customer, market trends and delivering on brand and business goals.

  • Developing and executing email marketing strategies in promotional and highly targeted trigger campaigns across the customer lifecycle.
  • Gathering and analyzing insights and historic data to determine the most valuable opportunities to improve content, performance and communications efficacy.
  • Working with analytics and mailing teams to conduct ongoing A/B and usability tests to enhance performance, deliverability and customer engagement. Gather data and analytics and make recommendations based on those results.
  • Working with our mail teams and brainstorm/define business and data requirements for email campaign implementations when it comes to building journeys, triggers, and dynamic emails.
  • Analyzing email, customer behavior and their key characteristics to improve email marketing.
  • Understanding the user personas to create the multiple user journeys while planning and testing different messaging approaches and concepts and keep track of learnings.
  • Working with our Mail Operations, Marketing Operations, Data and Tech teams to ensure various moving parts are communicated, tasks are clear, and timelines are on track or communicated and documented.
  • Mentoring and nurturing junior talent to grow the Marketing and Content Strategy practices.
  • Constantly staying up to date with Industry news trends and current events that could be or will soon be impacting the state of Email Marketing.
  • Prioritizing multiple projects and delivering highly effective and persuasive work.

Minimum Requirements and Skills:
  • Demonstrable knowledge of email best practices extending to targeting, creative messaging, CAN-Spam compliance, responsive design, deliverability, A/B testing, and email performance metrics.
  • Proven excellent communication skills both verbally and written and an ability to collaborate with fellow creatives and come to the table with new ideas.
  • Catalyst who brings big, bold ideas to deliver best in class concepts and creative thinking, obtain buy-in, and effectively and efficiently implement ideas at scale.
  • Ideal candidate would be humble, open and eager to hear feedback, and ability to provide helpful but constructive feedback to teammates.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize and handle multiple projects in a quick-turn, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proven ability to learn and integrate various communications, project management and reporting platforms and maintain latest updates accordingly.
  • Proven track record of reporting and delivering complex concepts and updates into simplistic, summarized exec level format reports.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism or a related field of study preferred, MBA a plus.
