Printed Circuit Board Designer

The Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking a printed circuit board designer. The selected candidate will work with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software to assist engineers with the design and manufacture of leading-edge printed circuit boards. This position will require full-time presence on-site at our headquarters in North Logan, UT.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working with electrical and mechanical engineers to develop printed circuit board designs for use in the development and fabrication of high-reliability electronics hardware
  • Working in all phases of hardware development from PCB design, board fabrication, and assembly
  • Assuring designs comply with IPC and military grade PCB design and fabrication standards/requirements
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Associates degree with three years of related experience, or applicable experience
  • Basic experience with PCB design EDA software, basic schematic entry, and a working knowledge of electronic components and their basic functions
  • Must work well independently with minimal supervision and in a team
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a US government security clearance
  • Must be able to travel as needed
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Altium EDA software tools
  • Experience in multi-layer board design, impedance controlled routing, and thermal design considerations
  • Experience with HyperLynx signal and power integrity software
