Computer Assisted Design - Technician
Technical Role / Responsibilities:
o Prepare drawings as directed by the project engineer with attention to detail, aesthetics, accuracy, and elegant solutions
§ Use CAD SW to create detailed 2D / 3D designs for complex projects.
§ Collaborate with project team to establish timelines & budgets
§ Ability to analyze data & develop creative solutions
o Support engineering team in design development requirements and creation of schedules and project cost projections.
o Estimate labor required to complete project drawing requirements with supervision.
o Support preparation of, or prepares drawings and specific type of equipment and materials to be used, in construction and equipment installation.
o Prepare electrical power systems equipment bills of material.
o Review vendor / manufacturer information
o Capture and organize electrical data for power system analysis.
§ Prepare engineered drawings
§ Insure accuracy / attention to detail
§ Maintain continuity throughout project
o Prepare and maintain Company CAD / drafting standards
o Support proposal preparation
o Support project report preparation
o Provide support for business development tasks:
§ Briefing preparation and presentation in support of business development efforts.
o Responsible for communicating with Project Engineers to maintain a clear / concise understanding of projects and daily business.
o Responsible for coordinating all aspects of production, design, and computer assisted design for assigned projects.
o Required to coordinate project activities with Project Engineers.
Basic Qualifications:
o Pursuing or Associate’s degree in Computer Assisted Design or Bachelor’s in engineering
o 2 – 4 years of practical CAD experience
o MS Office competency
o Excellent speaking, writing, and communication skills
o Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
o Firm grasp of basic mathematics
o Some travel may be required
