NBC Sports Group Internships - Spring 2022, Remote
Responsibilities
NBCUniversal owns a valuable portfolio spanning across broadcast divisions, cable networks, digital businesses, film, international, local media, Peacock and TV studio productions.
The NBC Sports Group serves sports fans 24/7 with premier live events, insightful studio shows, and compelling original programming. The sports media company consists of a unique array of broadcast television, cable television, radio and digital sports assets, including NBC Sports, NBC Olympics, NBCSN (NBC Sports Network), Golf Channel, NBC Sports Regional Networks, NBC Sports Radio and all their respective digital properties.
Opportunities may include (but are not limited to):
Digital: NBC Sports Digital provides fans with the highlights they crave, the news and analysis they need, from the voices they want to hear. As part of this internship, an intern would become part of the core digital video production team. The role includes day-to-day editing of original sports video and highlights for distribution across all of NBC Sports’ digital platforms. An intern would be exposed to multiple groups across the NBC Sports Group including digital, editorial and production.
Editorial: Interns will help with all research efforts, which include preparing daily clips, writing ticker notes, and fact checking research documents. Interns will also help with Olympics preparation. including entering results, recaps, writing, and transcribing interviews.
Enterprises (Gaming): NBC Sports EDGE is an industry leader and award winner in the world of fantasy sports. Interns will have the opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience in several aspects of the behind-the-scenes workings of the site's digital production, from site to social and more. Responsibilities include upkeep of the NBC Sports EDGE's player headshot database, keeping the website up to date via daily use of the CMS for site flips, video tagging and embedding, breaking news, and more. They would also aid in the publishing of videos and help the news desk with promotion of content via social media, sometimes through the creation of graphics in Adobe Photoshop.
GOLF Programming: The GOLF Programming intern provides support to all divisions within the programming department. Responsibilities range from information gathering and organization to data entry to show screening. The GOLF Programming Intern assists in the following areas: program information, program scheduling, program operations and international relations.
Marketing: The social media team at NBC Sports works on marketing all of our sports on our social accounts, as well as executing sales campaigns, and planning for big events. An intern in our group will be tasked with assisting the coordinators identify cultural moments on social, help prep for our biggest events, and attend meetings that have multi-department representation.

Qualifications/Requirements
In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress
Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal

Desired Characteristics
Strong interest in the media industry; knowledge of sports and/or fantasy sports is a plus
Commitment to building an inclusive work environment
Ability to multitask and highly organized
Excellent verbal and written communication
Previous internship experience or on-campus leadership
For Production/Editorial: Experience on a school newspaper or campus news station is a plus
For Creative/Digital: Experience with social media platforms and various creative tools (i.e. Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, or Avid) preferred.
