Winter Co-op/Process Engineering

Description of Department:

MDPI process engineering is responsible for process monitoring, control, and continuous improvement projects for dry powder inhalers. Products include, but are not limited to, Advair, Flovent, Relenza, Anoro, Breo, and the full suite of the Ellipta portfolio. Projects include equipment and process evaluations and study of powder dispensing, blending, blister filling, device assembly, and final packaging. Scope also includes support of root-cause-analysis (RCA) studies and support of new process/equipment validation.

Job Description:

We are seeking a 1-year full-time co-op to work on the PSC Zebulon team supporting data integration and process development. This position will support more senior staff in daily activities and project work. Typical support would include hands on data collection, data summary using Excel, JMP, Statistica or other software, and report writing. Other support may include project meetings, protocol development, and process monitoring.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing science-based 4-year BS, MS, or PhD degree
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the 6-12month co-op
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.
  • Hands on self-starter; must be able to work with a minimum of direct supervision
  • Must be eligible to work in the US at the time of, and for the duration of their employment. Candidates will be required to furnish evidence of US work authorization.
  • Salary commensurate with entry level engineering position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of statistics
  • Ability to summarize data in Excel
  • Prior work in industry
  • Familiar with GMP requirements

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to assignment target start date.
  • Must provide your own funding for relocation and/or ability to commute to Zebulon, NC.
