Instructional Technologist

Job Description: 
The Instructional Technologist is responsible for providing course design and delivery guidance to faculty and support in developing and delivering highly engaging courses in keeping with the strategic plan and mission of Gonzaga University. Instructional Technologists guide faculty in enhancing pedagogical and technological innovation and promote and advance academic excellence and innovation by ensuring that digital content and pedagogy are incorporated in all courses. 

Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in digital or electronic media production, emerging media, communication, Instructional systems, curriculum and instruction or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of related instructional technology experience. For example, instructional design, technology integration in learning environments, developing courses for online and/or hybrid delivery or educational media production.
  • Knowledge of emerging media trends
  • Experience using Blackboard or similar LMS for course delivery
  • Outstanding communication abilities to interface with internal and external clients and outside vendors and supporters.
  • An awareness of the latest in educational technology and pedagogy, and an ability to apply that knowledge across disciplines
Desired Qualifications: 
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in relevant field
  • Three years or more experience in higher education curriculum or course design or educational media design and production
  • Proficiency with HTML5 design and media production
  • Project Management Certification
  • Experience teaching online or hybrid courses​
