Communications Intern

Communications Intern: In person or remote paid internship. Candidates should have an interest in press and communications, including: social media, press releases, speechwriting, op-ed writing, and media outreach, as well as an interest in public policy and a desire to learn. Strong candidates will demonstrate good attention to detail, work well under deadline, be self-motivated, and possess strong written and oral communication skills. Policy issues will vary. Writing and research experience preferred. State ties preferred and Spanish language fluency a plus. Internship dates are flexible, but will start as early as late January and end in April.

Writing Sample: Choose a bill Senator Murray has previously introduced, sponsored, or cosponsored. Draft either a press release, op-ed, or short speech as if you were the Senator announcing your support for the bill. Please keep all writing samples to 1 page maximum and indicate which prompt you are doing.
