Construction Project Engineer
CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ENGINEER
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Assist the project team (Project Executive, Project Mangers, Superintendents, etc.) with the administration and coordination of the following project tasks:
- Administration and coordination of the turnkey construction of commercial and residential projects
- Review, coordination, and distribution of plans and contract documents
- Estimate construction costs, establish scopes of work, perform quantitative takeoffs, distribute bid documents, and analyze bids
- Ensuring deadlines and projected costs are met
- Procure contracts, and negotiate contractual agreements with suppliers and subcontractors
- Review and approve invoices, and generate monthly applications for payment for issuance to the client
- Maintain strict adherence to budgetary guidelines, quality assurance, and safety standards
- Monitor and maintain the construction project schedule
- Act as a liaison between the clients, design team, construction team, and field superintendent to facilitate communication, decision-making, and problem solving
- Ensure all applicable permits, licenses, and insurances have been obtained
- Make periodic visits to project sites
- Manage completion of punch list and project close-out
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, real estate development, or finance preferred
- General knowledge of construction means & methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings, and specifications
- Extraordinary communication skills
- Strong work ethic as well as a firm commitment to the highest quality standards
- Organizational skills and keen attention to detail
