Motion Graphics Intern - Summer 2022

Program Duration: May 31, 2022 - August 19, 2022
INTERN WILL LEARN AND BE EXPOSED TO: The Motion Graphics Intern for the NPR Video team will assist in creating original 2D animation and motion graphics for a range of exciting editorial projects, spanning the NPR newsroom, podcasting and NPR Music. We look for animators who can work in a range of styles and who can translate big ideas into smart and compelling visuals. Our team is dedicated to innovating with intention and by working with us you will learn how ideas can bloom and transform. This is a paid, full-time, 40-hour a week internship working remotely. It may require occasional late nights/odd hours.
INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in creating original 2D animation and motion graphics for a range of editorial projects, spanning the newsroom, podcasting and NPR Music.
  • Assists with miscellaneous video projects across NPR.
  • Projects will likely include creating animations for our visual platforms like Instagram and TikTok, contributing visual content to existing music video series and signature films, and participating in ideation of new video projects. 
WHO CAN APPLY?
  • LOCATION: This internship will be fully remote. Must be planning to work from the United States throughout the summer 2022 internship dates. 
  • EDUCATION: Must be a current student in an accredited degree program or a recent graduate of no more than 12 months from the month of the start of the internship. 
REQUIRED
  • Easily-located links to work samples or online portfolio in application
  • Strong skills with After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Aptitude in storytelling through editing & scripting
  • Evidence of being highly-organized, detail-oriented, and technologically savvy
  • Ability to follow directions precisely and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to be generally awesome and able to work well with awesome people
  • Availability full-time
PREFERRED
  • Experience shooting and editing video 
  • Skills in Adobe Premiere
SCHEDULE
  • Preferably 40hrs per week.
